25-27 July 2023 | Fremantle, Perth, Western Australia

Please read the information below regarding our guidelines for oral and poster presentations, as well as information about the conference app. Further details regarding your presentation day and time will be sent in the coming weeks.

Oral Presentations

All oral presenters, with the exception of Keynotes, will be given a total allotted time of 15 minutes, comprising a 12 minutes presentation and 3 minutes for questions. This will be monitored by the session chair on the day. To ensure the program runs smoothly, please keep to your allotted time frame.

Presentations must be completed in Microsoft Powerpoint. Projector screens at the venue will be in widescreen (16:9) format.

Please see our volunteers at the speaker booth to upload your presentation. They will be available to help you throughout the day. Please make sure that your presentation is loaded onto our system on the morning of your talk at the latest, or at least 3 hours before your allocated presentation time.

If you are presenting before morning tea on the first day, make sure to submit your presentations to the people who are manning the laptops in the presentation rooms. Otherwise, go to the speaker booth in the Trade Hall (Sirius room) and submit your presentations there.

Presentation Rooms

There will be two presentation rooms: the Orion and Pleiades rooms. A floor map of the venue will be provided soon on the website.

Each morning session will comprise plenary-style Keynote presentations. Following the plenary session each day, there will be two parallel sessions split between the Orion and Pleiades rooms. Before the symposium starts, please make sure that you know which room you are assigned to deliver your presentation.

AV Equipment

Each presentation room (Orion and Pleiades rooms) will be equipped with the following equipment:

  • A Windows-based laptop
  • Projector and screen
  • Wireless presenter remote (pointer and clicker)
  • Lectern with microphone
  • 2 roving microphones

We will have a dedicated technical person from the venue who will be attending to any issues we might encounter with the AV equipment.

Poster Presentations

Poster Size

Posters must be displayed in portrait orientation. The recommended poster size is A0: 1189mm high x 841mm wide (33.1 in wide by 46.8 in high). Oversize posters cannot be displayed.

Putting up and taking down your Poster

The venue will be open from 6h30 on 25th July 2023 and we encourage you to put up your poster as early as possible on this day. Please remove your poster by 18h00 on the final day of the conference (27th July 2023). Posters and any carry cases remaining on boards after 18h30 will be removed and disposed of. The names of the poster presenters will be placed on the board where their poster is to be displayed, together with the Velcro to attach the poster to the board. Your poster board number will be shown in the programme nearer the conference and emailed out when finally confirmed.

Timing

There is no dedicated poster session, and the posters will remain in the poster and exhibition hall throughout the conference. Conference attendees will be free to explore the poster and exhibition hall during several breaks and tea sessions throughout the conference, so we encourage you to be by your poster during these periods.

Printing

There is no onsite printing facility for posters. Please print your poster before the conference.

Digital Posters

There will also be an option to upload a digital copy of your poster to the conference mobile App. Additional instructions about how to do this will be provided nearer to the conference.

Conference App – created by Joyn

In line with our commitment to providing speakers, sponsors and attendees with an enjoyable interactive experience, we are thrilled to include a conference Mobile App (hosted by Joyn) as part of the 6th International Archean Symposium. This App will serve as a digital hub for all attendees, providing them with easy access to the conference program, digital posters, speaker and sponsor profiles, and valuable networking opportunities.

As a valued presenter, your profile has already been created within the App. In the coming weeks you will be sent an email from Joyn providing you with unique login details, and inviting you to complete your profile by uploading a profile picture and filling out your professional Bio. Please keep an eye out for this email. The App will go live on the 17th of July 2023 so we encourage you to login and complete your profile as soon as possible to ensure there is time for any troubleshooting.
